Gulf Coast snaps 2-game losing streak

ENTERPRISE, Ala. — The Gulf Coast men’s basketball team snapped a two-game losing skid with a 97-76 road victory over Enterprise State on Tuesday night.


With the win, the Commodores improved to 12-3 on the season. Myles McGregor led the way with 23 points, followed by Will Robinson with 19 points. Marlon Adams and Tyree Gibson scored 15 points each, while Daniel Kiely added 11 points, 11 rebounds, and six assists.


The Commodores were coming off of a tough weekend in which they dropped a pair of games in Ocala, falling to College of Central Florida 106-76 on Saturday and to Hillsborough 75-70 on Sunday.


Robinson led Gulf Coast on Saturday with 22 points, followed by McGregor with 15 points. Ben Eke added 10 points, eight rebounds, and three blocked shots. Quadree Smith had nine points and four rebounds.


Against Hillsborough, it was McGregor who led the way with 20 points on 7 of 14 from the field and 5 of 11 from the 3-point line. Robinson added 14 points and four rebounds, followed by Gibson with 13 points, five rebounds, and four assists, and Josh Wade with nine points and three rebounds.


Gulf Coast is off until Dec. 29 when it hosts Coastal Alabama-North on the first of the two-day New Year’s Classic at the Billy Harrison Field House. The Commodores will face Gordon State on Dec. 30.
