Gulf Coast wins second straight

BREWTON, Ala. — The Gulf Coast volleyball team earned its second match victory in a row Tuesday night with a four-set win over Coastal Alabama-Brewton: 21-25, 25-15, 25-18, 25-14. With the victory, the Lady Commodores improved to 6-7 on the season.


Madison Daniel led Gulf Coast with 18 kills, followed by Stephanie Garza with 11, Savannah Stanton with 10, Cassidi Gant with eight, and Jamie Clark with four. Mary Daniel led the Lady Commodores with 26 digs, followed by 11 digs from Garza, who was named the Sun-Lakes Conference Player of the Week last week.


Gulf Coast will return to conference action Friday to take on St. Johns River in Palatka before heading to Leesburg on Saturday for a matchup with Lake Sumter-State. The Lady Commodores return home Oct. 10 for the first of three straight league contests at the Billy Harrison Field House starting with Florida Gateway College. GC will then host Lake Sumter-State on Oct. 12 and St. Johns River on Oct. 13.
