GC Volleyball grabs 10th spot in the recent NJCAA DII rankings
GC Volleyball program is currently ranked 10th in the latest NJCAA DII rankings and
1st in Sun-Lakes Conference North Division:
The Lady Commodores finished up this past week with four wins under their belts, bringing
their Season overall record to 16-0 and 7-0 in Conference play. Currently, the Lady
Commodores are ranked #1 in the FCSAA Sun-Lakes Conference North Division.
Lady Commodores started their week (Sept. 20th ) vs. Coastal AL South in Bay Minette, AL. The Ladies defeated the Lady Sun Chiefs 25-12, 22-25, 25-11, 25-22. They then traveled to Central Florida to play two Conference games and one Non-Conference game. They began their 3-0 run vs. St. Johns River St. (Conference) defeating them 25-20, 25-17, 18-25, 25-18, then headed to Leesburg, FL to face Lake-Sumter St. (Conference) and Andrew College (Non-Conference). The Lady Commodores won their match vs. Lake-Sumter in four sets 23-25, 25-12, 28-26, 25-22. Fifteen mins after facing Lake-Sumter, the Lady Commodores played Andrew College, defeating them in three sets 25-9, 25-11, 25-8.
Currently, in the NJCAA DII statistics the Lady Commodores are ranked 13th in Kills per set (12.19), 19th in Hitting Percentage (.200), 15th in Service Aces (178), 13th in Service Aces per set (2.87), and 13th in Points per set (17.0).
This week (weather permitting) the Lady Commodores travel to Pensacola, FL to play Conference opponent Pensacola St. College on Wednesday, September 28, 2022, at 6:00PM. The Lady Commodores return home on Friday, September 30th to host Florida State College Jacksonville (Conference game) at 5:00PM in Billy Harrison Fieldhouse.
