Head Women's Volleyball Coach


Scott Allen enters his third season as Head Coach of the Lady Commodores Volleyball program.


Scott Allen began his playing career when he joined the Air Force after high school playing volleyball as a way to release stress of military life. Coach Allen has an extensive playing and coaching background which gives him a unique perspective into the challenges that face student-athletes. Coach Allen was a member of the All Air Force Volleyball team from 2001 to 2004 and won Gold and a Silver Medal in the Armed Forces Tournament during his time on the team. In 2003 he was selected to represent the USA in the CISM Military World Games in Catania Italy.

Florida Dairy Farmers 7A Coach of the Year in 2017


During his time as Head Coach of the Choctaw Lady Indians, Coach Allen lead his team to a State Championship and the Elite 8 twice.  He has coached 2 Division I and 2 Division II players.

Coach Allen’s teams have won over 100 tournaments in 5 years of Beach and Indoor competition.

Emerald Coast Volleyball has won 4 Regional Championships, and placed 3rd, 5th, 9th and 9th at the AAU National Championship.



During a five-year span, Coach Allen has coached four AAU All-Americans.

Krista Hughes

Assistant Women's Volleyball Coach

Krista Hughes enters her second season with the Gulf Coast State College Women's Volleyball Program.

Coach Hughes started her coaching career as she helped lead Christopher Newport University to a 30-3 record in 2015 and a 25-10 record in 2016. Along the way, the Captains won one Capital Athletic Conference cahmpioinship and advanced to the second round of the NCAA Tournament.

Hughes was also the head coach of the Williamsburg Volleyball Club 18 National team during the 2016-17 season, leading them to a 28-11 overall record. She coached 4 Division I players and 4 Division III players.

Coach Hughes spent two seasons at East Tennessee State (Division I), Hughes went to Christopher Newport University in 2012. During her three years with the Captains, Hughes helped the team capture three conference titles and a pair of NCAA Regional crowns. Coach Hughes finished her career with 251 kills and 99 blocks while hitting at a .271 clip.

Coach Hughes is currently a coach for Emerald Coast Volleyball Club. She spent her first season at ECVC developing the 15U-National team.
