Gulf Coast State College Volleyball Head Coach earns 100th College Career win
On Saturday, October 14, 2023, in Palatka, FL, Head Coach Scott Allen led his team
to victory over Conference opponent St. Johns River earning his 100th College Coaching
Career win. Thus far in the 2023 season, the Lady Commodores are 14-4 overall and
9-2 in conference play.
Coach Allen became the seventh coach of the Lady Commodores’ Volleyball Program during
the 2018 season. During his first five years as Head Coach, Allen has led his teams
to two Conference Championships, three Regional Championships, and three NJCAA DII
Volleyball Championship appearances. Coach Allen currently has a Coaching Career
Record of 100 wins/48 losses (0.676 winning %). Over the past five seasons, Coach
Allen has earned five Coach of the Year honors (3 Gulf District, and 2 Kim Whitney
Coach of the Year), and two AVCA Two Year College Southeast Coach of the Year awards.
His athletes have earned All-Sun-Lakes Conference team (1st team (6), 2nd team (6)),
2 Player of the Year, twelve Sun-Lakes Conference All-Tournament, three Most Outstanding
Player, five FCSAA All-State team (1st team (4) 2nd team (1)), and one NJCAA All-American
(2019 Emma Richards Second Team All-American).
The Volleyball team has two regular season conference matches this week vs. Pensacola State College on Oct. 18th in Pensacola, FL @6pm, and Florida State College at Jacksonville on Oct. 21st at 1pm est. The Lady Commodores final home match will take place on October 19th at 5pm vs. Andrew College in the Billy Harrison Fieldhouse. Their last regular season match will be on the road vs. Coastal AL South in Bay Minette, AL at 7pm.
