Lady Commodores return to home court after 2-1 weekend on the road

The Lady Commodores finished their weekend play in southern Florida 2-1.  

On Thursday, September 21st, the Lady 'Dores began their three days of play in New Port Richey, FL vs. Pasco-Hernando St. dropping three sets to PHSC 13-25, 20-25, 21-25.  Sophomore Abigail Willis led the Lady 'Dores with 5 kills (.500 k%), 4 block assists, and 2 digs.  Sophomore Izzy Denton had 22 digs during the match.  Both sophomore Milana Cvetkovski and freshman Isabel Mulita had a service ace.  Breanna Tanton accumulated 13 assists throughout the match.

Friday, September 22nd, the ladies were back on the court vs. State College of Florida Lady Manatees in Bradenton, FL.  The Lady Commodores defeated the Lady Manatees in three sets 25-22, 25-13, 25-12.  Sophomores Milana Cvetkovski and Annabell Chancy both had 8 kills and 4 block assists. Cvetkovski had a K% of .538, and Chancy had a K% of .545.  Freshman Ally Green had an outstanding night from the service line, earning 3 service aces.  Freshman Grace Castellani earned 2 service aces, freshman Isabel Mulita had 1 service ace, and sophomores Lauren Marien & Izzy Denton both had one service ace.  

Saturday, September 23rd, the Lady Commodores finished their week of play sweeping the St. Petersburg Lady Titans in three 25-17, 25-20, 25-20.  Sophomore, Abigail Willis had another great night on the court as she helped lead the Lady Commodores to a 3-0 victory over St. Petersburg College with 9 kills (.474 K%), 1 solo block, and 3 block assists.   Freshman, Ally Green had 8 kills, 11 digs.

The Lady Commodores were strong at the service line with 12 service aces throughout the match.  Sophomores Izzy Denton and Breanna Tanton both had 1 service ace while Sophomore Lauren Marien earned 2 service aces.  Freshmen, Grace Castellani had 2 service aces, and Isabel Mulita and Ally Green both earned 3 service aces.  Setter, Mulita had 17 assists, and Tanton had 18 assists and 10 digs.

The Lady Commodores are ranked #15 in the Nation in this week's NJCAA DII Volleyball Rankings.

This week the Lady Commodores hosts Palm Beach State on Friday, September 29th at 6pm, and South Florida State on Saturday, September 30th at 1pm.  Both matches will be played in the Billy Harrison Fieldhouse.

*Saturday's match vs. South FL St. we will honor our Sophomores after the match.
