GC Volleyball's At-Large Bid for the National Championship

The Lady Commodores fought hard against their Panhandle foe Pensacola State College in the FCSAA DII/NJCAA South Atlantic District Championship on Saturday, Nov. 4th.  Freshman Outside Hitter Cecelia Worsham had an impressive match with 10 kills, 10 digs, and a service ace in the second set.  Sophomore Middle Blocker Abigail Willis followed with 5 kills, .308 Kill %, and three block assists.  Freshman Defensive Specialist Morgan Langley's first match back after an injury sidelined her earlier in the season had a great afternoon as well with 10 digs and two service aces.  Setters Breanna Tanton and Isabel Mulita helped the team with a total of 32 assists.

Game Highlights:
C. Worsham: 10 kills, 10 digs, 1 service ace.
A. Willis: 5 kills, .308 kill %, 3 block assists.
I. Denton: 19 digs, 1 service ace.
M. Langley: 10 digs, 2 service aces.
B. Tanton: 19 assists.
I. Mulita: 13 assists.

The Lady Commodores Volleyball team has sent in their paperwork for a possible At-Large Bid to the National Championship.  They will find out on Thursday, November 9th if they receive the bid.  You can watch the 2023 NJCAA DII Volleyball Bracket Release at 10am on Thursday, November 9th. 

This season Gulf Coast State College Volleyball has beaten four Nationally ranked Top 10 teams (Parkland, Kirkwood, Grand Rapids, and Pensacola State).  The Lady 'Dores have only one loss to a team that was not Nationally ranked in the Top 20.
