Coach Allen enters his sixth season as Head Coach of the Lady Commodores Volleyball program.

The Lady Commodores finished their 2021 season record of 14-13.  Two Lady Commodores earned DII FCSAA/NJCAA Gulf District All-Tournament Team honors and Two Lady Commodores earned All Sun-Lakes Conference honors.

During the 2020 season, Coach Allen's team finished their overall season 17-5.  The Lady Commodores earned back-to-back Sun-Lakes Conference Gulf District Championships and punched their ticket for a return trip to the 2020 NJCAA Division II Volleyball National Championship.  During the 2020 NJCAA DII National Championship, the Lady Commodores earned a 6th place finish.  

In 2019, Allen lead his team to a record of 23-8 (0.742 winning %). The Lady Commodores finished their season as the Sun-Lakes Conference Champions, they also earned a spot in the 2019 NJCAA Division II Volleyball National Championship (first time in program history) with their win over St. Johns River during the 2019 Sun-Lakes Conference Gulf District Tournament. While playing in the 2019 NJCAA Division II Volleyball National Championship the Lady Commodores finished 10th. Allen had three players earn DII Sun-Lakes Conference All-Tournament Team. At the 2019 DII Sun-Lakes Conference Gulf District Championship two players earned All-Sun-Lakes Conference First-Team honors and one player earned Second-Team honors. Emma Richards was named DII Sun-Lakes Conference Most Outstanding Player and Sun-Lakes Conference Gulf District Player of the Year while Coach Allen earned Coach of the Year for the Conference and Gulf District Championship. Emma Richards also earned NJCAA Division II Volleyball National All Tournament Team and NJCAA Volleyball Second-Team All-American.

Scott Allen began his playing career when he joined the Air Force after high school playing volleyball as a way to release stress of military life. Coach Allen has an extensive playing and coaching background which gives him a unique perspective into the challenges that face student-athletes. Coach Allen was a member of the All Air Force Volleyball team from 2001 to 2004 and won Gold and a Silver Medal in the Armed Forces Tournament during his time on the team. In 2003 he was selected to represent the USA in the CISM Military World Games in Catania Italy.

  • During his time as Head Coach of the Choctaw Lady Indians, Coach Allen lead his team to a State Championship and the Elite 8 twice.  He has coached 2 Division I and 2 Division II players.
Emerald Coast Volleyball:
  • Co-Director & Master Coach
  • Coach Allen’s teams have won over 100 tournaments in 5 years of Beach and Indoor competition.
  • Emerald Coast Volleyball has won 4 Regional Championships, and placed 3rd, 5th, 9th and 9th at the AAU National Championship.
AAU:
  • During a five-year span, Coach Allen has coached four AAU All-Americans.
Playing Experience:
  • 2001-2004 All Air Force Volleyball team: Gold and Silver medal in the Armed Forces Tournament
  • 2003 selected to USA Team for the CISM Military World Games

Assistant Coach Reece Rhodes

Coach Rhodes enters her first season with the Lady Commodores Volleyball Program.

Prior to joing the Gulf Coast State College Volleyball Program as an Assistant Coach, Rhodes spent the last two seasons playing for Huntingdon College on their indoor and 1's pair beach volleyball programs.  Rhodes earned All Championship team and Second-Team All Conference for indoor. She earned Deans list of Honors and High honors awards.

Rhodes began her college career at Gulf Coast in 2020.  She received All Tournament team and Second-team All Conference.

During her time at Gulf Coast State College, Coach Rhodes earned Deans list, Presidents list, and All-academic team. 

Coach Rhodes played for Arnold High School before earning a scholarship to play for Gulf Coast State College.
