The Gulf Coast State College baseball team split a high-scoring weekend with State College of Florida, falling in game one before bouncing back in a big way in game two on their home field.
In game one, the Commodores came out strong and showed power at the plate, but could not hold off a late push from State College of Florida, falling 14-10. The Commodores wasted no time getting started, after giving up a run in the top of the first, the Commodores answered right back with six runs in the bottom half of the inning. The Commodores hit four home runs in the game, including two from Touchstone and two from Lucas Badalato. Sam Brown also added a home run during a big third inning that helped stretch the lead. The biggest inning came in the fourth when they scored seven runs to break the game open.
