Commodores climb in rankings after strong weekend wins
The Commodores had a strong weekend, defeating Gordon State and East Central Community College. With these victories, the team moved up one spot to #11 in the latest NJCAA DI Men's Basketball rankings.
In their first game, the Commodores defeated Gordon State College 98-73. Sophomore Trent Lincoln led the team with 23 points, 5 rebounds, and 4 assists. Devontes Cobbs added 21 points and 3 assists. Traevon Koch scored 13 points and grabbed 8 rebounds, while Alex Pissis finished with 12 points. Iyran Francis also contributed with 8 points and 8 rebounds, helping the team control the boards.
The Commodores closed out the weekend with a 93-86 win over East Central Community College. Trent Lincoln again led the way with 18 points and 4 assists. Augustas Merkys scored 14 points, and Jabari Quarterman added 12 points along with 7 assists. Alex Pissis finished with 11 points and 4 rebounds, and Alpha Barry had a strong game with 10 points and 12 rebounds.
The Commodores will be back on the road this week as they travel to Wadley, Alabama, on November 19 to play Southern Union State at 6:30 pm.
