Four Lady Commodores named to the All-Panhandle Team
For the Lady Commodores, forward Arianny Francisco De Oliveira earned First Team honors after leading the team in scoring all season. She finished the regular season with 492 total points and averaged 19.7 points per game. She also pulled down 231 rebounds. Francisco De Oliveira is currently ranked fourth in the NJCAA in free throw percentage at 86.4 percent. Her best conference performance came on January 17 against Tallahassee State, when she scored 33 points and grabbed 14 rebounds.
Guard Myla Benton also earned First Team recognition. Benton had a strong conference performance against Tallahassee State on January 17, when she scored 32 points and grabbed 12 rebounds. During the regular season, she averaged 15.2 points per game. She shot 43.6 percent from the field and 75.8 percent from the free throw line.
Two Lady Commodores were named to the All-Panhandle Conference Second Team. Guard Kayla Hopson averaged 9.1 points per game during the regular season. She also shot 38.2 percent from the field and 72.3 percent from the free throw line while averaging 5.4 assists per game. Her top conference performance came on January 24 against Pensacola State, when she scored 19 points and added five rebounds and four assists.
Center Anjela Minja also earned Second Team honors. She averaged 7.4 points per game and 7.4 rebounds per game during the regular season while shooting 51.4 percent from the field. Her best conference game came on February 25 against Northwest Florida State, when she recorded 14 points, 10 rebounds, and one block.
