Aguilera earns back-to-back First team All-American honors
Sophomore PIN Danna Aguilera has once again proven herself as one of the top players in the nation, earning back-to-back NJCAA Division II First Team All-American honors after a remarkable 2025 season. With this accomplishment, she not only repeated as one of the country's best, but also made history for Gulf Coast State College. Aguilera became the first GC volleyball player to ever earn First Team All-American honors, and she broke history again by becoming the first player in program history to earn All-American recognition twice.
Aguilera put together one of the strongest seasons ever seen at Gulf Coast. She finished with 482 kills, which ranked 12th in the NJCAA and stands as the second-highest single-season total in school history. She added 63 service aces and 552 digs, ranking fourth in the program's single-season record book. Her all-around impact helped her score 566.5 total points, a mark that ranked 10th in the NJCAA.
Her success did not start this year. Aguilera has already made her mark in the Gulf Coast State College Volleyball record book, holding two of the top spots for most kills in a season with 482 in 2025 and 391 in 2024. She is also the program's all-time leader in career kills with 873 and ranks second in career digs with 951.
Aguilera's back-to-back All-American honors highlight her talent, dedication, and competitive spirit. She has set a new standard for the Lady Commodores and built a legacy that future players will strive to follow for years to come.
