Lady Commodores claim second consecutive Gulf Coast Invite Title
Panama City, Fla. – The Lady Commodores Cross Country team successfully defended their home course at Majette Park, capturing their second straight Gulf Coast Invite championship in dominant fashion. Gulf Coast St. placed nine runners inside the Top 15, leaving no doubt about their hold on the title.
Freshman standout Lauren Logue led the charge with a first-place finish, crossing the line at 20:29.26. Teammate Hannah Gadberry followed with a strong third-place performance in 21:29.07, while Hannah Da Costa secured fourth at 22:00.49. Adriana Cruz-Betancourth added to the team's impressive showing, finishing sixth with a time of 22:15.83.
Rounding out the scoring effort, Madison McMillan finished 10th at 22:46.14. Katelynne James claimed 11th in 23:11.98, followed closely by Keren Lin in 12th at 23:18.30. Bailey Martinek took 14th in 23:48.82, and Keiley Hickman completed the Commodores' top-15 sweep with a 15th-place finish at 24:10.49.
The Lady Commodores posted a strong average time of 21:48.16, defeating runner-up Florida Gateway by 1:90.59.
"We ran well as a team, and I am pleased with the effort and the win," said Head Coach Tom Dever.
With their second consecutive Gulf Coast Invite victory secured, Gulf Coast now turns its focus to the Florida Gateway Invite in Lake City, Fla. The race is scheduled for Friday, October 10 at 8:30 a.m. EST.
