Lake City, FL-The Lady Commodores Cross Country Team turned in an impressive performance on Friday, capturing the team title at the 2025 Florida Gateway College Invitational in Lake City, Florida. Gulf Coast delivered a strong, top-to-bottom effort, with every runner posting either a season-best or personal-best time.
Freshman Lauren Logue once again led the Commodores' pack with a time of 19:57.3 to take second place overall. Adriana Cruz-Betancourth followed with a steady race, finishing seventh in 20:48.0, while Hannah Gadberry crossed the line in 10th at 21:02.9, giving Gulf Coast three runners inside the top 10. Rounding out the team's scoring five were Hannah Da Costa with a 22:01.5 and Madison McMillan at 22:04.9, both turning in strong closing efforts over the final mile to secure the victory.
Depth proved to be a key factor once again for Gulf Coast, with Katelynne James (22:36.3), Keiley Hickman (22:43.1), Keren Lin (23:02.0), and Bailey Martinek (23:17.5) all finishing close behind and helping solidify the team's overall dominance.
"Our entire lineup performed exceptionally well today," said Head Coach Tom Dever. "Every athlete ran a season or personal best, which speaks to the progress we've made in training and the confidence the team is carrying into the postseason. It was a great day for the program."
With the win, the Lady Commodores continue to build momentum heading into the FCSAA Cross Country Championship, which will be held October 24 at Apalachee Regional Park in Tallahassee—a course well-known for fast times and championship-level competition.
