Lady Commodores brave the snow to earn program best finish at NJCAA DII Championship
November 8, 2025
Running in less than ideal weather conditions with three inches of snow on the ground and temperatures hovering around 34 degrees, the Lady Commodores battled through the elements to earn a 19th-place finish at the 2025 NJCAA Division II Women's Cross Country Championship. The performance marks a new program best, improving on last season's 22nd-place national finish.
Freshman Lauren Logue led the way for the Lady Commodores with a standout performance, finishing 44th overall with a time of 20:57.7. Her effort not only paced the Lady Commodores but also earned her the distinction of becoming the program's first-ever Women's Cross Country All-American.
Sophomore Adriana Cruz-Betancourth posted a time of 22:01.1, while freshman Hannah Gadberry crossed the line shortly after at 22:09.5. Sophomore Hannah Da Costa followed with a time of 23:58.0, and sophomore Keiley Hickman rounded out the team scoring with a finish of 24:11.0.
Despite the challenging weather, the Lady Commodores demonstrated grit and determination, closing out their season with a record-breaking national performance and the program's first All-American honoree.
"I couldn't be more proud of this group and the determination they showed today," said Head Coach Tom Dever. "Running in snow and freezing temperatures isn't easy, but our ladies never made excuses, they just went out and competed. I'm so happy for them to finish the season on such a strong note and to see all their hard work pay off with a new program best and our first All-American."
